2019 in Review: On the Road with Specialty Health

It’s been a busy 2019 for our Specialty Health team! Christy Vago, Julie Bobak and team traveled around the country attending industry conferences, conventions and participated in speaking engagements. They collaborated these efforts with key business partners and industry professionals, such as Health Rosetta, to participate in discussions around healthcare trends. The team also got together with one another regularly throughout the year to reflect on their accomplishments thus far. As we close the door on 2019, the team is looking forward to a successful 2020. Follow us on LinkedIn to keep up with the Specialty Health team’s efforts and events.

Here are just some of the highlights from 2019:

Health Rosetta’s Wake-Up Call Roadshow: Ending the Collateral Damage in Phoenix

HINT Summit, a Direct Primary Care conference in San Francisco

OneBeacon Healthcare Summit, a collaborative meeting including OneBeacon businesses that are affected by healthcare risks (Plymouth, MN)

Financial Services Meets in Music City

OneBeacon Financial Services recently held their annual all-team meeting down in Nashville, Tennessee to look at the year ahead, and reflect on their 2019 accomplishments. The two-day meeting included presentations from the specialty and P&C underwriting teams, in addition to hearing from key business partners. It was also a great forum for open discussion around industry trends and new business ideas.

Not only did they say goodbye 2019, but they bid farewell to a long-time colleague and friend, Keith Fruechte. To celebrate his retirement, the team made their way to downtown Nashville for dinner, and caught a show at the historic Grand Ole Opry, where country artists such as Rascal Flatts performed. It’s not a goodbye, but a see you later and best of luck to Keith!

Intact Financial Corporation reports Q2-2019 Results

Charles Brindamour, Chief Executive Officer, said: “The fundamentals across all our businesses are strong. I was disappointed to see more activity than anticipated on older auto files which led us to prudently bolster reserves. At the same time our action plans in auto are working, driving an excellent underlying performance. Hard market conditions continue across the business allowing us to capture growth opportunities.”
