This initiative aims to collaborate with the industry’s community to raise awareness and inspire young professionals to choose insurance as a career. What’s the coolest part of your insurance job? Insurance journal wants to know!
Insurance Careers Movements has partnered with Insurance Journal to launch a careers contest aimed at insurance professionals who are 40 years old and under. Contestants are encouraged to be creative in submitting photos and short videos to share their experiences!
Participants will be entered to win a prize drawing for a one-year all-access Insurance Journal Academy Membership and an Amazon Echo. The deadline is November 16 and winners will be announced on December 4.

Each October we enjoy the opportunity to give back with our industry colleagues during the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s (IICF) Week of Giving (WoG). This year, members of our Boston and Canton offices prepared meals at the Pine Street Inn alongside local Guy Carpenter employees. At our Denver office, employees held a food drive to benefit the Denver Rescue Mission. With 25% of industry employees nearing retirement by 2018, there is a growing need to inspire young talent to join our workforce. That’s why we’re joining the Insurance Careers Movement, an industry-wide campaign that reinforces how insurance hits the career trifecta: it’s stable, limitless and rewarding. Following are a few simple ways that those in our industry can participate, as well as examples of our efforts.
- Share your career stories. Watch the clip to hear our employees share why they chose a career in insurance and feel a young person could thrive in our industry.
- Connect with college students. Attending alumni events, speaking on panels and exhibiting at career fairs are great ways to network with students. Look for our booth at the University of Minnesota’s Actuarial Career Fair on Monday, Sept. 26!
