Keep Boston in Your Thoughts

No matter where you were yesterday afternoon, in a heartbeat, we all became Bostonians. The irony of tragedy at the finish line of an event that is all about endurance and the strength of the human spirit is lost on none of us. For us at OneBeacon, the shock was a little closer to home as we trace our origins to Boston, and our namesake Beacon Street is one of the avenues hosting the annual Patriot’s Day race.

Fortunately, everyone from the OneBeacon community is safe, but we are all greatly saddened by such an inexplicable event. Please join us in keeping the families of those affected in your thoughts and prayers, and helping Boston through this most difficult of times.

OBPI attends CLM Annual Conference

If you will be attending the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) conference on April 10-12,  in San Antonio, Texas, don’t miss out on your chance to hear from OneBeacon Professional Insurance.  Both Derek Steffen, Assistant Vice President of Design Professional Liability Claims, and Dennis Galvin, Vice President for Lawyers Professional and Real Estate Professional Liability Claims will be presenting at the conference.  Check out the details of their presentations below:

Steffen’s session will discuss various issues facing policyholders and their attorneys related to contractual indemnity, including the potential impact of contractual indemnification on the management of liability claims. Steffen’s session will begin at 11:30 A.M.CST on April 11.

Galvin’s presentation is titled “The Economic Recession and Damages: A Review of How Professional Liability Defense Attorneys Are Using The Economic Collapse To Undermine Damages Claims And Theories.” The session will be held on on April 12^th at 3:25.
