Kansas City Pickleball

OneBeacon Inland Marine recently participated in and sponsored the IMA Foundation’s Kansas City Pickleball event. This year, the event raised $25,000, with proceeds going to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City.

Inland Marine’s Lucas Hockenberry and Molly Miller competed in the tournament, finishing 3-3. We are proud to have participated in the event and especially to contribute to a worthy cause by being the Pickle Juice Sponsor!

Great Seeing You in Phoenix!

Recently we had the pleasure of hosting producers in Phoenix, AZ for our second open house of the year. Eight of our businesses were on hand to discuss their products and services, while enjoying lite bites and drinks during a warm Phoenix evening at the Culinary Dropout. Underwriting teams from Entertainment, Environmental, Financial Services, Government Risks, International Marine Underwriters, Inland Marine, Management Liability and Technology were the hosts for the evening. Holiday Cargo Alert: Tips for Loss Prevention & Control

According to the Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA), cargo theft incidents over the holidays are traditionally higher than any other period during the year.

In 2017, there were a total of 18 cargo theft incidents that were reported over the Thanksgiving holiday including a warehouse burglary of nearly $500,000 worth of whiskey. This is hardly a coincidence as cargo criminals take advantage of the extended “shopping” time.

Of particular note, California led the way with 8 reported theft incidents followed by 3 in New Jersey, 2 in Florida, 2 in Texas and 1 reported incident in Illinois and Iowa.

As the Thanksgiving holiday weekend approaches, take a moment to review these measures suggested by the IMUA on protecting goods at rest and at risk.

OneBeacon Inland Marine Welcomes Chris Giadrosich

We’re pleased to welcome Chris Giadrosich to OneBeacon Inland Marine. Chris joined the team in August 2018, as a Senior Underwriting Consultant. In his role, Chris will manage all components of development, growth and profitability for the Southeast Region, led by Jim Galluzzi. Based out of Birmingham, Alabama, Chris will assist with the management of all business activities supported by Robin Crawford and Gail Babston to provide solutions for agents and brokers located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Carolina and Virginia.

Chris brings 22 years of industry experience to OneBeacon, 13 of which have been focused on the Property & Inland Marine market. Prior to joining OneBeacon, Chris worked in various capacities for national institutions as an underwriting manager, wholesale broker and retail marketer.
