As you know, the Annapolis Capitol Gazette building was the scene of a tragic incident on Thursday afternoon. Our IMU Yacht Center is located in that building and thankfully, everyone on our team is safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Capital Gazette community and their families during this difficult time.

As we near the official start of summer, it’s also the start of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June through November. Last year the United States and its territories saw major devastation, as hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose and Maria blew through and made landfall.

Glassdoor, a popular recruiting and employer review website, recently announced its annual top 25 most liked CEOs in Canada. We’re pleased to say that Charles Brindamour, CEO of Intact, was named on the list.
According to the website, the list is compiled through a proprietary algorithm that generates an “approval rating.” Employee reviews and ratings factor into the overall approval percentage. Charles received an approval rating of 91 percent.
This week, claims representatives from two OneBeacon businesses are part of panel discussions at the 12th Annual E&O Insurance ExecuSummit taking place in Uncasville, CT.
Later today, Clyde Haig of OneBeacon Healthcare Group will participate on a panel titled, “The Weird, Wacky and Wonderful: Special Problems in E&O Claim Settlements.” This panel will focus on issues that can arise during claim settlements such as such as consent to settlement issues, problems unique to mediations, direct negotiations between plaintiff and the adjuster, drop down agreements and more.
Then on Tuesday, Financial Institutions’ Marty Coomber will join a panel discussion titled, “Claims and Defense Strategies for Handling Insurance Agents and Brokers E&O Litigation Issues Relating to Standard of Care, Twisting/Churning and Replacement of Policies.” The presentation will focus on what these terms mean, how regulations may vary by state and managing relationships during contentious times.
The E&O ExecuSummit is an educational event specifically designed for E&O professionals to provoke strategic thinking, open new channels of information and provide opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with industry colleagues.
OneBeacon Surety Group today announced changes to the roles and responsibilities of members of its U.S. leadership team. In addition, it is now offering up to $250,000,000 in aggregate surety bond capacity for qualifying clients
Building upon his 25 years of Surety industry experience and his strong leadership of OneBeacon Surety Group, Chad Anderson has been named Head of North American Surety. Chad will lead Surety teams across the U.S. and Canada, who will continue to operate in their local markets as OneBeacon and Intact Insurance, respectively.
Additionally, John Guglielmo has been appointed Head of U.S. Commercial Surety and Michael Seff has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer for Commercial Surety in North America. Both will continue reporting directly to Mr. Anderson.

OneBeacon Government Risks (OBGR) is attending the Public Risk Management Association’s (PRIMA) 2018 Annual Conference, June 3-6, 2018 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
